The WiRE is CWA 1109's newest communication vehicle. The 1109 Executive Board realizes that as technology keeps advancing we need to increase the speed at which information reaches our members. As you can see in this inaugural issue, we have much information to report, and this has been the case for the past 3 years. Now, we have the tools necessary to get the info to you quickly and efficiently. The companies we work for are able to get a message to all of you with ease through company emails, company phones, and blackberries. When they send propaganda messages as Verizon did on Good Friday about negotiations, and again last week about a senate bill they wanted you to fight, we will now be able to respond to those messages immediately.
At this point we are in the process of collecting the memberships personal email addresses. We are requesting that those who received this email forward it to the members who may not and encourage them to join our mailing list (an easy sign up form is located on the homepage of our new website). We are also in the process of compiling a list for Blast Text Messaging as well. You can also sign up for blast text messaging on the homepage of the website. So feel free to print a copy of The WiRE and post on your Union bulletin board and help us spread the word. Enjoy the summer, be safe and be proud to be union.
