When We Fight We Win

CWA 1109 is recommending a No Vote!  We do not believe this TA addresses our members concerns. We want our members to see all points of views before casting a vote. Here you will also find a letter from CWA D1 Vice President Dennis Trainor explaining why he supports this TA.

Executive Board Letter

Date: March 13, 2026

To: Members of CWA Local 1109

Subject: Agreement in Principle Between Verizon and the CWA

On behalf of the Executive Board and staff of CWA Local 1109, we are writing to address the Agreement in Principle between Verizon and the CWA and to share our position and expectations as the membership considers this proposal.

The Board respects all views and opinions on this important matter. Whether you are in favor of the Agreement in Principle or opposed, you have every right to express your opinion. We will not mislead members or present one-sided information. That is why we feel it is necessary to share all points of view collectively and to encourage open, respectful discussion.

This Board reviewed the MOU as presented to us, we discussed the issues and concerns that have been brought to us by our members and asked if this agreement is in line with what we believe our members expect to be resolved. We unanimously agreed the answer is NO we have shared our opinion and our concerns as well positives on subjects we feel were cared for openly with our members. However, our board feels strongly and is recommending our members VOTE NO, we will not force, scare, or intimidate any member to vote a particular way. The decision to vote yes or no is yours and yours alone, and the Board respects that individual choice.

We strongly encourage every member to carefully review the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as it was presented to the Local, to research available information, and to participate in informational meetings so you can make a well-informed decision based on your own priorities and needs before casting your ballot.

Please respect the process and show courtesy to one another throughout this period. If you have questions or need clarification, contact the Local office or attend the scheduled meetings. We will continue to share updates and answer questions to the best of our ability.

Thank you for your attention and for participating in this important decision-making process.

In solidarity,

Executive Board and Staff

CWA Local 1109
